Acupuncture theory is based on the flow of “Qi” (most often translated as the body’s vital energy) through twelve meridians, or channels. Each channel corresponds to a different internal organ, such as the liver, heart, stomach, or spleen , and connects in a network that runs through the body, cycling from one channel to the next. Acupuncture heals the body by stimulating specific points on these channels that can impact biochemical and physiological conditions in the body as well as stimulate sensory receptors. These sensory receptors then signal nerves to transmit impulses to the hypothalamic-pituitary system in the brain where neurotransmitters and endorphins are released, easing pain, promoting healing and improving immune function. In this way Acupuncture is able to address specific health concerns, and strengthen your overall health and well-being.

As a licensed acupuncturist based in Vancouver, I’ve studied, worked, and immersed myself in helping my patients find physical and emotional balance in their lives for the past decade.

Creating an inclusive, safe, and healing environment for my patients is a top priority for me. I am passionate about educating patients and answering your questions so that you can have a better understanding of how acupuncture works. I treat a wide range of symptoms and conditions, including mental and emotional well being, migraines, fertility, menstrual health, chronic and acute pain and injury, and digestive issues.

I am here to meet you where you are at in this journey, and all the ups and downs that go along with it. Although I may give gentle lifestyle recommendations, I also know the joys of that first morning coffee, a glass of wine, or a piece of nice stinky cheese. I strive to work with what will fit best into your own lifestyle, schedule, and comfort.

I love a good work-life-play balance, and when I am not in the clinic, you can typically find me with my giant pup Cass on hiking trails or swimming in the river, on backpacking adventures in the mountains, or traveling to visit family and friends afar.
